Spotlight Values Launch Report

Once the house lights went down, the stage dazzled with young dancers, artists, singers and voices for change. Amidst the voices of the younger generation, Sister Jayanti graced the stage as an image of wisdom and a vision of the beauty of a life lived with values.

So many came and dedicated their time, talent and love to the event. Luisa, a blossoming young 14 year old wowed the audience with the song “Imagine” and Fred Johnson, an acclaimed jazz musician and performer, inspired all by guiding them into a sound sculpture of values with drums, voice and audience participation. Yuritzi and Elizabeth touched everyone’s hearts with a powerful dance called “From Dark to Light” and Rachel Hunter sang a poignant song as Sr Jayanti took the stage. There was even a live band (Charles, Alexis and Hartwell) that played to an artistic video of dance, providing a perfect example of the multi media potential for expressing values.

The whole team offered their gifts to the evening. Oliver and Amar played the guitar and tabla as the guests strolled in. Marianne led the audience through the three steps of exploring, expressing, and exchanging the values. Madhavi walked the audience through the process of engaging through the online blog and introduced them to special guest Maya Saoud, who was nominated as the UN youth representative at the UN International Year of the Youth launch event. Anne- Christelle and Julien charmed the audience with their beautiful dance. And all the way from Brazil, Augusto came to give a glimpse of the International face of the project. Judi and Bebe mc’d the event and like a master juggler, Tanya directed and guided all the theatrical elements of the evening.

And when the doors closed to the theater, the Spotlight Values team felt immense joy not only because the launch went beautifully but because they worked together with so much regard and harmony. The Divine Spotlight fell onto the stage but it shined especially onto the magic that happens when anything is done with Love.
